Hey fashionable friends! I wanted to check in today with a little photo diary of the fashion highlights of my life lately. Think of it like the Fashion Oscars – basically you’re getting only the award-winning outfits and none of the frumpy stuff (which trust me, I frump it up 65% of the time!).
Here’s a fun tidbit: I take a lot of outfit selfies. Like, pretty much every day. Most selfies don’t make it to my Instagram – I usually just snap them for my own documentation. I like to look back for outfit inspiration and to learn from what wasn’t quite right.
So without further ado, here’s what I’ve been wearing this summer. Each photo is accompanied with a funny story, thrifty tip, or shopping link because I know you all love to laugh, save money and shop!
Sometimes fashion is all about playing favorites. I snagged these Sam Edelman wedges last summer (last seen here) and instead of getting distracted and buying yet another pair of wedges this year, I was perfectly happy to wear these again!
Banana Republic dress (also love this dress)
Happy bridal shower, happy marriage! I wore an old Banana Republic dress (last see here) to a friend’s bridal shower. Sure, it was fun to celebrate her upcoming nuptials, but it was also fun to get dressed up!
My itsy bitsy bathing suits days may be behind me, but that doesn’t mean I want to look like an old fart on the beach! The perfect compromise: a high neck top + high waist bikini bottoms. Flattering, modest and still sexy! Seriously, these ruched bottoms are perfection (be sure to size up 1 size).
LC Lauren Conrad Dress (purchased via Poshmark)
My go-to dress this summer was an oldie LC Lauren Conrad dress that I scored for $10 via Poshmark (read my Poshmark review here). And I noticed that Lauren’s latest collection just hit Kohl’s — I’ve got my eye on this sweet little number!
Rocksbox = Netflix for jewelry. I first tried this jewelry rental brand back in 2014. After some time off, I’m back on the Rockbox train — why buy when you can rent!? Check out this awesome House of Harlow necklace. (Use code MADELINEBFF16 for one free month!!).
Old Navy tee (also love this one) | LOFT skirt | Converse All Stars | Panama hat
Sometimes brunch is all about being comfortable! On a whim, I assembled this outfit for a brunch & Sunday stroll and was pretty happy with the casual result! Skirt and sneakers? Oui!
